Visiting

St Mary and All Saints is the largest church building in Derbyshire, and is famous locally and internationally for its crooked spire, attracting visitors from around the world.

The church is open Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. for anyone to find a quiet place to pray, to visit or look around.

Tower Tours – please read carefully!

Please be aware that there is a breeding pair of Peregrine Falcons nested on the tower, and it will not be possible for tours to go out onto the viewing platform until the chicks have fledged.  There are two healthy and growing chicks on the nesting platform, and it is expected that they will be fledged by the end of July, as the brood is several weeks later than usual. Because of this prices are temporarily reduced to £8 adult; £4 child.

It is not possible at present to book or reserve tickets online, through email or by telephone.  Tickets for the coming weekend tours may be purchased from the church Gift Shop starting on Monday in the week when the tour takes place.

Special tours can be arranged at a cost of £150.  They depend on the availability of a guide, and are arranged at times when no other event is taking place in the church.  They can accommodate a maximum of 15 individuals, and may be subject to curtailment or cancellation in the event of severe weather.

Ticket prices are £10 for an Adult and £5 for a Child – a family ticket for no more than 2 adults and 2 children is also available at £20.  These ticket prices have been held for 2024.  Dates and times for tours can be found below.
